Lodestar CL2B was designed especially for medium voltage utility overhead lines. It ensures 99% accuracy of detection of load currents from 2A. CL2B is provided with current and voltage unique measurement algorithms and outstanding fault detection capabilities. Three devices Lodestar CL2B located on different phases of the line perform synchronous vector measurements.

In the event of a fault on an overhead line, the indicators flash using ultra-bright LEDs, with the flashing pattern corresponding to the specific fault type. To enable data transmission from the devices to the KOMORSAN data collection server or to the dispatcher’s SCADA system, the devices can be equipped with the Lodestar Smartbox or Lightbox data transmission unit.

Lodestar CL2B benefits:

  • Versatile installation – independent of conductor configuration and number of circuits.
  • Secure attachment – reliable clamp for firm mounting on the conductor.
  • Hot‑stick installation – easy mounting without de‑energizing the line.
  • Flexible SCADA integration – IEC 60870‑5‑104 via KOMORSAN software or direct DNP3 connection using a communication unit.
  • Directional fault detection – identifies fault current direction.
  • Any neutral grounding type – effective operation in any neutral grounding arrangement.
  • Versatile network compatibility – suitable for radial and looped networks with single or multiple feeds.
